Andhra Pradesh, committing itself to sustainable and synergic development of the
state, envisages developing sixteen smart cities in the state along the lines of
National Smart Cities Mission. There are 13 Smart Cities as Urban Centers, while
04 cities are being developed under Govt. of India, remaining 13 are being developed
by the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) as ‘Development of Smart Cities’ project
in a phased manner.
Cities Mission of Government of India, and also ranks third as Swachh Bharat City
in India. The provision of basic municipal services is being enhanced by Greater
Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), to serve and fuel the growth momentum
of the city.
APUIAML is providing end-to-end services for the development of the Visakhapatnam
Sewerage and Recycled Water Project. The Project has been structured to cover the
uncovered areas of the city viz., Pendurthi, Malkapuram and Gajuwaka, by providing
sewerage connection system and House Service Connections (HSC). As the economic
significance of Visakhapatnam lies in the presence of many industries, and their
respective water requirements for routine operations, it is proposed to treat and
reuse Recycled Water for usage by industries in the vicinity.
APUIAML is playing a crucial role in modernizing the Urban Transport in the State
of Andhra Pradesh by bringing Smart Mobility Solution. A continuously growing economy
and fast urbanization require a robust urban infrastructure for domestic growth
of the transportation sector. This has been boosted by the Smart Cities Mission
announced by the Government of India& Andhra Pradesh state level Smart City mission.
E- bike:
E-bike could change the proposition. An e-bike could offer up an option to an entirely
different audience, covers social aspects, health benefits, faster commute, more
importantly an extra push up hills.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh (“GoAP”) has accorded top priority to sustaining
this double-digit economic growth by focusing on development of 100+ self-sustaining
Economic Cities across the State.
The concept of an Economic City is focused on the following:
- Creation of walk to work environment and self-sustaining ecosystem.
- Light & Green Industries leading to incremental Jobs.
- Jobs leading to increased demand for Housing, Commercial and
- Social Infrastructure from employees.
- Addressing needs of increased Urbanization.
- Resulting in construction led multiplier effect on Economy and Growth.

at Jakkampudi near Vijayawada “
The JET City, proposed to be developed as an inclusive and integrated township,
will provide built space for Light & Green Industries, Housing, Commercial and Recreational
activities. The components of the JET City are planned in such a way that they complement
each other and create a self-sustainable environment. It also creates jobs and contributes
to GDP Growth.
